These Korean particles are often confused. Please take a look at these example sentences to get a feel for how they are different.

The first two sentences are the same in Korean so you would next some context to know if the meaning of “In” or “From” is being used.

Destination + ~까지

Attaching ~까지 to a place marks that place as the “Destination” or “Stopping point.”

 저는 부산까지 운전할 거예요. I will drive until Busan.

 

Time + ~까지

Attaching ~까지 to a time expresses the end time, “Until” a time, or “Up to” a time.

You can use ~에서 “From” and ~까지 “To” or “Until” in the same sentence.
Remember that you must attach ~에서 to an inanimate, non-living, noun.  The Korean particles 에게서 or 한테서 are for living nouns like people and animals.
